DEVELOPMENT OF A REHABILITATION ECOSYSTEM IN KYIV AND CHERNIHIV REGIONS

The project aims to develop an accessible and person-centred rehabilitation ecosystem in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. It involves strengthening the capacity of medical, social, educational and veterans’ services, improving coordination between them, and establishing clear patient pathways so that individuals can receive the necessary comprehensive support in a timely manner.

The Health Sciences Research Foundation has contributed to the development of the methodology and the analysis of the results of the assessment of the rehabilitation system, identifying its strengths, gaps and potential for improvement, which will be set out in the narrative report.

Goal: The development in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions of a sustainable, patient-centred rehabilitation system capable of responding to the needs of people with war-related injuries and other conditions, by establishing effective community-based rehabilitation models, building the capacity of healthcare facilities and integrating related services (prosthetics, social support, inclusive employment, etc.).

Period: June 2025 – September 2028
