REPORT ON THE RESULTS AND EXPERIENCE OF IMPLEMENTING THE INITIATIVE “WAR TRAUMA REHABILITATION IN UKRAINE”
The initiative aims to support the development of an accessible rehabilitation system based on the principles of evidence-based practice, a multidisciplinary approach and a patient-centred approach, within the framework of the biopsychosocial approach of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Interventions under the ‘WTR’ initiative have helped to improve access to rehabilitation for different population groups at all stages of life, integrate rehabilitation at all levels of healthcare, and expand coverage of healthcare services.
Health Sciences Research Foundation carried out a comprehensive collection, organisation and analysis of data on the initiative’s activities and the transformation of the rehabilitation sector, with a view to producing a report setting out the achievements, challenges and future directions for the development of the rehabilitation system in Ukraine.
Goal: To evaluate the results and determine the impact of the ‘War Trauma Rehabilitation’ initiative on the development of the rehabilitation system in Ukraine during the period of its implementation.”
Period: The “War Trauma Rehabilitation in Ukraine” initiative has been implemented since 1 June 2022 by the ‘Patients of Ukraine’ Charitable Foundation, with the ongoing support of the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, the European Union and Nova Ukraine. The report on the initiative’s activities, experience and impact in Ukraine covers the period from 1 June 2022 to 30 October 2024 and was presented in November 2024.
